Speaking on the Platform

The bell was ringing. Miss Wu, who teaches us English, came into the classroom, a big smile on her face. Several teachers around us had observed and studied her class. I knew it was a demonstration class, and I was a little excited.

鈴聲響了。教我們英語的吳老師臉上帶著微笑走進教室。我們學校的其他一些老師都來聽她的課。我知道這是一個公開課，我有點激動。

Everything went on well. All of us listened to our teacher attentively and, when we answered questions, our answers were correct and clear. The smile on teacher’s face suggested that she was satisfied with us. In the end of the class, she asked, “Who would like to come up to the platform and repeat the story?” While saying these words, she looked at all the students with an expression of hope in her eyes.

一切都進行得很好。我們都用心聽我們老師講課，我們回答問題時的答案是正確，清晰的。她臉上的微笑表示她很滿意我們的表現。接近這堂課的尾聲時她問，“誰愿意來講臺上復述這個故事？“在說這些話時，她用充滿著希望的眼神看著所有的學生。

How I wanted to jump onto the platform and give an excellent performance before the whole class! It’s really a good opportunity to practice spoken English. But I hesitated for one or two minutes. “If I get to the platform and ready to speak, but forget the story or make mistakes, what can I do?” I asked myself. “Will anyone laugh at me?”

我多么想跳上講臺，在全班面前展示一個優(yōu)秀的表演！這是練習英語口語的好機會。但我猶豫了一兩分鐘?！叭绻胰ブv臺演講，忘記了故事或犯錯誤，我該怎么辦？”我問自己,“會不會有人嘲笑我呢？”

I looked up and saw Miss Wu smiling at me. “Take it easy!” she said to me.

我抬頭看到吳老師正在微笑地對我說“勇敢點。"

I stepped onto the platform quickly and began to retell the story confidently. I spoke thinking of nothing but the story. After I finished the story, I returned to my seat, my heart was beating faster than ever. The girl beside me said, “Good job!” and I smiled.

我迅速的走上講臺開始自信的復述這個故事。我一邊講，腦子里除了故事什么都沒想。我講完后回到座位上，心從未跳得現在這么快。坐在我旁邊的女孩說，“干得好！”之后我笑了。
