He pulled out a>站在那些高智商高學(xué)歷的學(xué)生前面,他說(shuō):“我們來(lái)做個(gè)小測(cè)驗(yàn)”,拿出一個(gè)一加侖的廣口瓶放在他面前的桌上。 Everyone in the class yelled, 'Yes.' The time management expert replied, 'Really?' He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. He dumped some gravel in and shook the jar, causing pieces of gravel to work themselves down into the spaces between the big rocks. He then asked the group>所有學(xué)生應(yīng)道:“滿了!”。 艾F(xiàn)在瓶子滿了嗎?” By this time the class was>但這一次學(xué)生有些明白了,“可能還沒(méi)有”,一位學(xué)生應(yīng)道?! 'No!' the class shouted. Once again he said, 'Good.' Then he grabbed a pitcher of water and began to pour it in until the jar was filled to the brim. Then he looked at the class and asked, 'What is the point of this illustration?' One eager student raised his hand and said, 'The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard you can always fit some more things in it!' 'No,' the speaker replied, 'that's not the point. The truth this illustration teaches us is if you don't put the big rocks in first, you'll never get them in at all. What are the 'big rocks' in your life? Time with your loved>“不!” Success in Life 成功 Success means different things for different people. Some may equate it with fame, some with wealth and still some with accomplishments. For me, it means fulfilling>對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō),成功意味著完成一個(gè)人的夢(mèng)想。 Dreams bring you hope and happiness. In the process of struggling for it, you cry, sweat, complain or even curse, but the joy of harvesting makes you forget all the pains and troubles you have gone through. So an old proverb says that the sweetest fruit is>所以一句老話說(shuō)最甜蜜的果實(shí)是在最艱苦的奮斗后得來(lái)的。 There are several keys to success. First, your goal must be practical and practicable. If you set your goal too high, chances are that you will never attain it. Next, you have to make a plan of doing it. You can take some steps to realize it. Since the process is quite tough, you need to be diligent, patient and persevering. Even if you meet with some difficulties or frustrations, just take them in your stride. You can always tell yourself that there is nothing insurmountable. With this will and determination, success is sure to wait for you at the end of the tunnel! If you woke up this morning with more health than illness…… 如果你早上醒來(lái)的時(shí)候健康無(wú)恙…… you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation… 如果你未曾經(jīng)歷過(guò)戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的危險(xiǎn)、入獄的孤獨(dú)、嚴(yán)刑的苦楚、饑餓的痛苦…… you are ahead of 500 million people in the world. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes>如果你冰箱里有食物,身上有衣服可穿,有屋篷遮蔽,有地方睡覺(jué)…… you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in dish someplace… 如果你銀行中有存款,錢(qián)包中也有錢(qián),還能到某處消費(fèi)…… you are among the top 8% of the world's wealth. If your parents are still alive and still married… 如果你的父母依然健在,而且還在一起生活的話…… you are very rare, even in the United Stated and Canada. So… Work live you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching. Sing like nobody's listening. Live like it's Heaven The Nails and the Fence There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a nail in the back fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out>最后,終于有一天,小家伙脾氣都不發(fā)了。 The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this> 日子一天天過(guò)去,最后,那個(gè)男孩告訴他爸爸說(shuō)釘子他都拔完了。 Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us. Show your friends how much you care.
If swallows go away, they will come back again. If willows wither, they will turn green again. If peach blossoms fade, they will flower again. But, tell me, you the wise, why should our days go by never to return? Perhaps they have been stolen by someone. But who could it be and where could he hide them? Perhaps they have just run away by themselves. But where could they be at the present moment? I don’t know how many days I am entitled to altogether, but my quota of then is undoubtedly wearing away. Counting up silently, I find that more than 8000 days have already slipped away through my fingers. Like a drop of water falling off a needle point into the ocean, my days are quietly dripping into the stream of time without leaving a trace. At the thought of this, sweat oozes from my forehead and tears trickle down my cheeks. What is gone is gone, what is to come keeps coming. How swift is the transition in between! When I get up in the morning, the slanting sun casts two or three squarish patches of light into my small room. The sun has feet too, edging away softly and stealthily. And, without knowing it, I am already caught in its revolution. Thus the day flows away through the sink when I wash my hands; vanishes in the rice bowl when I have my meal; passes away quietly before the fixed gaze of my eyes when I am lost in reverie. Aware of its fleeting presence, I reach out for it> 在逃去如飛的日子里,在千門(mén)萬(wàn)戶的世界里的我能做些什么呢? Living in this world with its fleeting days and teeming millions, what can I do but waver and wander and live a transient life? What have I been doing during the 8000 fleeting days except wavering and wandering? The bygone days, like wisps of smoke, have been dispersed by gentle winds, and, like thin mists, have been evaporated by the rising sun. What traces have I left behind? No, nothing, not even gossamer-like traces. I have come to this world stark naked, and in the twinkling of an eye, I am to go back as stark naked as ever. However, I am taking it very much to heart: why should I be made to pass through this world for nothing at all? O you the wise, would you tell me please: why should our days go by never to return? |
