1.昨天傍晚開始雨又下大了，我們只能老早的就趕緊吃完了飯，等我回到桃園時差不多才5:30過一點兒。這次我已經(jīng)穿上了小棉襖，這樣在窩在被窩里看小說就不會感覺冷了。不過后來剛脫下棉襖鉆進(jìn)被窩睡覺時，就感覺被服，還是有點涼的。還好，后來把被子裹緊之后，也就不感覺冷了。

2. 只是夜里做了好多個亂七八糟的夢。第1個說我鉆進(jìn)了某個樹林里，結(jié)果身上爬了好多打屁蟲那樣的令人討厭的甲殼蟲；第2個夢里說，我居然睡在了一個地上沾滿牛糞的屋子里，搞得我特別無語……

3. 今早的大鵝，開始大叫時倒還稍微晚了那么一點，一直到差不多6點多才開始嘎嘎亂叫。不過它們叫的倒是挺過分的，因為它們直接圍著我的小屋，在那嘎嘎亂叫，應(yīng)該是餓了。或許覺得圍著我的屋子叫，一定能把我給吵醒，好起來給它們這些家伙們弄吃的吧。

4. 等在桃園那邊忙完之后，回到家老爸已經(jīng)做好了早飯。不過我看到的是老爸蹲在地上正在撿那撒在地上的干面條。一問之下才知道他下面條時不小心把那干面條撒在地上了。等吃早飯時，我才發(fā)現(xiàn)，今早的面條，那可是真干哪，一點兒湯都沒有了。不過話說回來，這面條糊涂吃起來還挺有味道的。

5. 吃過早飯?zhí)祀m然沒有放晴，但雨卻停了，是個多云的天氣。能看著天空大亮，就已經(jīng)讓人挺開心的了。于是我穿上靴子，帶著倆小狗出門轉(zhuǎn)了一圈。一路上我發(fā)現(xiàn)村里好多泥土圍墻全都被這近一個月來的雨水給沖垮了。而南邊兒那稻田里還有好多稻谷都還沒來得及搶，收回來就已經(jīng)全都倒伏在地上，冒了芽兒。尤其是連那收割機(jī)都還停在水田里，那樣子看著多少有點凄慘的感覺。

6. 后來看到小說里有這么一段文字，就特別理解農(nóng)民的無奈。

7. 晚上我們切了點紅薯，在地鍋里做了一鍋紅薯飯。

還別說，這地鍋里做的紅薯飯或許是因為比電飯鍋里的火力更旺，蒸煮更充分，所以吃起來那紅薯要軟糯香甜好多。更別說還有那無可替代的香脆鍋巴，這自然更是一個加分項。這還沒完，地鍋做飯要比電飯鍋快了好多?；蛟S是我家這個電飯鍋功率有點小，平時做上一頓飯差不多都得一個多小時才能熟；而這地鍋做飯，今天只用了半個多小時，就把飯給弄熟了。以至于今天吃完晚飯回到桃園時，還不到5:30，要比平時早了差不多半個多小時。

1. The rain started pouring again yesterday evening, so we had to hurry up and finish dinner early. By the time I got back to the peach orchard cottage, it was just a little past 5:30. This time I’d already put on my thin cotton-padded jacket, so I wouldn’t feel cold curling up under the covers to read my novel. But later, when I took off the jacket and climbed into bed, the bedding still felt a bit cool. Luckily, after wrapping myself tightly in the quilt, I didn’t feel cold anymore.
2. I just had a bunch of messy dreams at night. The first one was that I crawled into some woods, and my body was covered with annoying beetles like stink bugs; in the second dream, I actually slept in a room with cow dung all over the floor, which made me really speechless…
3. The geese started honking a bit later this morning—they didn’t start quacking loudly until almost 6 o’clock. But they were being quite excessive, circling right around my cottage and quacking nonstop. They must have been hungry. Probably thought that by honking around my house, they’d definitely wake me up to get them food.
4. After finishing my work at the peach orchard, I went home and found Dad had already made breakfast. But what I saw was Dad squatting on the ground, picking up the dry noodles he’d spilled. When I asked, I found out he’d accidentally dropped the dry noodles while cooking them. When I ate breakfast, I noticed the noodles were really dry today—no soup at all. Still, this thick, dry noodle dish actually tasted pretty good.
5. After breakfast, though the sky didn’t clear up, the rain had stopped, and it was cloudy. Just seeing the sky brighten up made me feel really happy. So I put on my boots, took the two little dogs, and went out for a walk. Along the way, I noticed that many earthen walls in the village had collapsed from the rain over the past month. And in the rice fields to the south, a lot of rice hadn’t been harvested in time—they’d all fallen over and sprouted. Even the harvester was still stuck in the paddy field, looking somewhat pitiful.
6. Later, when I read a passage in my novel, I really understood the helplessness of farmers.
7. Tonight, we cut some sweet potatoes and cooked a pot of sweet potato rice in the earthen stove. Let me tell you, maybe because the earthen stove has a stronger fire and cooks more thoroughly than the electric rice cooker, the sweet potatoes tasted much softer, glutinous, and sweeter. Not to mention the irreplaceable crispy rice crust—that was definitely a bonus. And that’s not all: cooking with the earthen stove is much faster than the electric rice cooker. Maybe our electric rice cooker has a low power rating; usually, it takes almost an hour to cook a meal. But today, the earthen stove cooked the rice in just over half an hour. So by the time I got back to the peach orchard after dinner, it was still before 5:30—almost half an hour earlier than usual.
