Mr Li is 82, but he still acts like a 50-year-old. He lives alone. He still plays tennis. He still drivers a car. He’s still interested in reading .Five years ago he began writing a novel and now he is still working hard at it. He hasn’t finished it yet.

I．Still在肯定句和疑問(wèn)句中。

1 用Still（=up to now）表達(dá)比預(yù)期的持續(xù)得更長(zhǎng)的動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)。

He still plays tennis.(We don't expect an 82-year-old to play tennis)

2 在肯定句中still位于動(dòng)詞be的后面,主動(dòng)詞的前面,或助動(dòng)詞和主動(dòng)詞之間。.在疑問(wèn)句中still位于be動(dòng)詞和助動(dòng)詞之后。

II．Still and yet在否定句中

Reading:

Li lost his glasses last night. His daughter’s phoning him:

'Have you found your glasses yet?’

'No, I’ve looked everywhere in the house, but I still haven’t found them. Of course they may be in the car. I haven’t looked there yet.’

' Have you phoned the optician’s?’

' I can’t read the number in the phone book, so I haven’t phoned them yet.’

' By the way, how’s you novel? Have you finished it yet ?’

'No. I still haven’t finished it ..’

1.在否定句和疑問(wèn)句中用yet (=up to now)表示某事沒(méi)有發(fā)生但預(yù)計(jì)將會(huì)發(fā)生。通常位于句末或從句末。

I haven’t looked there yet Have you finished it yet?

2．在否定句中，如果強(qiáng)調(diào)某事到現(xiàn)在還沒(méi)有發(fā)生，則用still(不是 yet)。

I still haven’t found them. I still haven’t finished it .

Still位于助動(dòng)詞前(hasn’t, doesn’t 等)。
