基本釋義 

The zodiac is a diagram used by astrologers to represent the positions of the planets and stars. The Chinese zodiac, or Sheng Xiao, is a repeating 12-year cycle of animal signs and their ascribed attributes, based on the lunar calendar. In order, the zodiac animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig.

What’s your sign? In Western astrology, it’s a constellation determined by when your birthday falls in the calendar. But according to the Chinese zodiac, or shengxiao, it’s your shuxiang, meaning the animal assigned to your birth year. 

你是什么星座的? 在西方占星術(shù)中，它是一個(gè)由你的生日在日歷上的日期決定的星座。但根據(jù)中國(guó)的十二生肖，這是你的“屬相”，意味著你的出生年份。

古人認(rèn)為，人的性格及命運(yùn)與出生時(shí)的星象息息相關(guān)。那么，如何描述星象呢？ Zodiac （十二宮圖）就是一個(gè)描述星象的常用工具。

古代將太陽(yáng)的運(yùn)行軌跡稱為“黃道”，將黃道劃分為等長(zhǎng)的十二份，每一份稱為一宮，合成為“黃道十二宮”。

在每一個(gè)宮附近，差不多正好分布有一個(gè)星座，包括：白羊座、金牛座、巨蟹座、獅子座等等。

每個(gè)人出生時(shí)，太陽(yáng)所處的宮位就是你的“星座”，由于這些星座大部分都是以動(dòng)物命名的，所以希臘人管這些星座稱為zodiakos, 字面意思是“動(dòng)物組成的環(huán)”，來(lái)源于詞根zoion（動(dòng)物）。英語(yǔ)單詞zodiac和zoo都來(lái)源于這個(gè)詞根。
