大家在看美片美劇時(shí)經(jīng)常會(huì)聽到一個(gè)詞，blah blah blah，而且，這個(gè)詞貌似在漢語中也開始流行起來，經(jīng)常會(huì)在網(wǎng)文熱貼中出現(xiàn)。那這個(gè)詞到底是什么意思呢？

“blah blah blah”是個(gè)短語，是用來指別人發(fā)言或說話比較乏味、啰嗦、老一套或者無意義的、你沒興趣的話語等，或者說話時(shí)不想說出具體的內(nèi)容，也可以用于舉例時(shí)表達(dá)相似的東西或情況，此時(shí)相當(dāng)于說“etc., and so on and so forth”。也可寫作：bla bla bla，或blablabla。

看幾個(gè)例子：

Oh blah blah blah - I've heard it all before!

哦，又是這一套，我早聽過了！

The teacher told us to go over the chapter, do the exercise questions, bla bla bla.

老師叫我們復(fù)習(xí)章節(jié)、做練習(xí)，等等。

They say they want to cut taxes, improve education, blah, blah, blah.

他們說他們想要減稅、改善教育等等等。

There he goes, blah blah blah, talking nonsense as usual.
他又來了, 夸夸其談, 像往常一樣談來談去都是廢話。

B: Sure! Blablabla!

A：你不……時(shí)就會(huì)說的話……

B：當(dāng)然！就這些話！

單獨(dú)一個(gè)blah也可以用，意指“廢話；胡言亂語”：

That's just a lot of blah.
那就是廢話連篇。

還可作形容詞用，這時(shí)的意思是“枯燥的；無趣的；（身體）不舒服的”：

I feel really blah today.

我今天覺得很不舒服。

The movie was pretty blah.

那部電影真是很無趣。

有兩個(gè)與blah字形接近、也與說話相關(guān)的詞，一個(gè)是“blab”，另一個(gè)是“blabber”，前者的意思是“泄密”，后者的意思是“胡扯；瞎說；喋喋不休”?！?/span>blab”有時(shí)可與“blabber”混用：

She'll blab it all over the neighborhood.

她會(huì)把這事宣揚(yáng)到所有鄰居都知道的。

This is not something you go blabbing to your friends about.

那可不是你能去告訴你朋友們的事。

What's he blabbering (on) about?
他胡扯些什么?

He's always blabbering on about business.
他總是喋喋不休地說生意的事。

最后再說一個(gè)由此而來的衍生詞：

blabbermouth
大嘴巴；到處宣揚(yáng)別人秘密的人

那個(gè)多嘴多舌的安吉拉告訴了阿歷克斯我喜歡他！
