說到問為什么，大家肯定馬上想到why。用why來提問確實是詢問原因的最常用的句型。不過，除了why之外，我們還可以用以下的方法來問原因。

第一個要學(xué)的就是：

How come…?

How come可以單獨使用，意同“Why”：

A: I haven't watched a movie all year.

B: How come?

A：我一年都沒看過一部電影。

B：為什么呢？

也可用來引起問句。要注意的是，在“How come…?”這一句型中，句子的語序與“Why…?”是不一樣的。Why引導(dǎo)的特殊疑問句，使用疑問句語序。而How come引起的問句，則采用陳述句語序。

How come I have to go to bed so early?

為什么要我這么早睡覺啊？

How come I can’t get a new bike?

我為什么不能買輛新自行車?。?/span>

How come you didn't turn in your homework?

除了上述兩個以how開頭的問句可用于詢問原因外，還有一個常用的以what開頭的疑問句型：

What…for?

What are you doing this for?

What did you do that for?

你為什么那么做？

What did Jack hit you for?

杰克為什么打你？

What did you go there for?

“What for?”也是可以獨立使用的，意同“why”：

A: I want you to clean your room.

B: What for? It's clean enough."

A：我想你清潔你的房間。
