2. cost / pay an arm and a leg 花了大價(jià)錢 These concert tickets cost us an arm and a leg! 這些演唱會(huì)票花了我們大價(jià)錢! A: That coat looks good on you. Was it a gift? B: No, I bought it. It's really good quality, but it cost me an arm and a leg. A:你穿的那件外套看起來(lái)很棒,是人家送的嗎? B:沒有,是我買的。質(zhì)量是很好,但可花了我血本了。
3. penny wise, pound foolish 省小錢花大錢 You’re just being penny-wise, pound foolish! 你這是在省小錢失大錢! Saving a little bit of money on repairs can lead to long-term damage.
