說話時一句話里會有聲調(diào)高低輕重的變化，這就是語調(diào)。在說話的時候使用不同的語調(diào)，能夠表達(dá)肯定、懷疑、激動、感嘆等眾多感情的變化。在英語中，常用的語調(diào)如下：

1.降調(diào)：

降調(diào)一般用于陳述句、特殊疑問句、祈使句、感嘆句中。如：

I will go to Hong Kong tomorrow↘.

What did you do in the summer holiday↘?

Pleaase close the door↘.

What a nice day today↘!

2.升調(diào)：

升調(diào)一般用于一般疑問句中。如：

Is the boy your brother↗？

3.升降調(diào)：

升降調(diào)即語調(diào)先升后降，一般用于選擇疑問句、列舉并列舉并列成分、從句在前主句在后的復(fù)合句中。如：

Which do you prefer，the banana↗or the apple↘?

There are some books↗，a ruler↗，there pens↗，five pencils↗and an eraser↘in the bag.

If l feel happy↗，l will sing a song↘.

4.降升調(diào)：

降升調(diào)即語調(diào)先降后，一般用于反義疑問句中。如：

He likes swimming↘，doesn’t he↗?

在日常交流中，英語句子的語調(diào)除了以上幾項之外，還是千變?nèi)f化的。同樣的句子，語調(diào)不同，意思就會不同。我們要在平時多積累、多感悟，學(xué)會運用語調(diào)來表達(dá)自己，以及通過說話者的語調(diào)去體會其意思。
