and haughtier than have ever yet been heardupon earth.

I will make the songs of passion to givethem their way,

And your songs outlaw'd offenders, for Iscan you with kindred eyes,

and carry you with me the same as any.

I will make the true poem of riches,

To earn for the body and the mind whateveradheres and goes forward

and is not dropt by death;

I will effuse egotism and show itunderlying all, and I will be the

bard of personality,

And I will show of male and female thateither is but the equal of

the other,

And sexual organs and acts! do youconcentrate in me, for I am determin'd

to tell you with courageous clear voice toprove you illustrious,

And I will show that there is noimperfection in the present, and

can be none in the future,

And I will show that whatever happens toanybody it may be turn'd to

beautiful results,

And I will show that nothing can happenmore beautiful than death,

And I will thread a thread through my poemsthat time and events are

compact,

And that all the things of the universe areperfect miracles, each

as profound as any.

I will not make poems with reference toparts,

But I will make poems, songs, thoughts,with reference to ensemble,

And I will not sing with reference to aday, but with reference to

all days,

And I will not make a poem nor the leastpart of a poem but has

reference to the soul,

Because having look'd at the objects of theuniverse, I find there

is no one nor any particle of one but hasreference to the soul.

我的女人喲！為著屬于我們，也遠(yuǎn)在我們后面的孩子，

為著那些屬于現(xiàn)在和屬于未來的一切，

我歡欣地準(zhǔn)備接待他們，現(xiàn)在要唱出比自來大地上所曾聽到過的更強(qiáng)

健、更驕做的贊歌。

我愿意唱出熱情之歌，來給他們開路，

還有你們的歌，你們不受法律保護(hù)的叛逆者，我以同類者的眼光注視著

你們，也帶者你如同別人一樣和我走去。

我要?jiǎng)?chuàng)造出真正的富裕之歌，

來為身心獲得永固的、前進(jìn)的和不為死亡所制的一切。

我要盡情歌頌自我主義，并指出那是一切的基礎(chǔ)，我愿意做一個(gè)歌頌人

格的詩(shī)人，

我愿意指出男女都互相平等，

性器官和性活動(dòng)喲！你們集中向我吧，因?yàn)槲覜Q定勇敢地明白地對(duì)你們

說，證明你們是光明的，

我愿意指示出現(xiàn)在沒有不完美的事物，將來也沒有不完美的事物，

我愿意指示出無論任何人遭遇了什么，都可以成為美麗的結(jié)果，

我愿意指示出人所遭遇到的再?zèng)]有比死更美麗的了，

我愿意在我的詩(shī)歌里穿上一條線，說明時(shí)間和事件是結(jié)合起來的整體，

說明宇宙的萬物都是完美的奇跡，每一件都是和另一件一樣的深?yuàn)W。

我不愿意歌唱關(guān)于部分的詩(shī)歌，

我愿意使我的詩(shī)歌，思想，關(guān)涉到全體，

我不愿唱僅關(guān)于一天的，而要唱關(guān)于每天的詩(shī)歌，

我作的任何一首詩(shī)，或一首詩(shī)的最小的一部分，都關(guān)涉到靈魂，

因?yàn)榭催^了宇宙中的萬物；我發(fā)見任何個(gè)體，任何個(gè)體之一部分都關(guān)涉

到靈魂。
