Shut not your doors to me proud libraries,

For that which was lacking on all yourwell-fill'd shelves, yet

needed most, I bring,

Forth from the war emerging, a book I havemade,

The words of my book nothing, the drift ofit every thing,

A book separate, not link'd with the restnor felt by the intellect,

But you ye untold latencies will thrill toevery page.

不要向我關(guān)門吧，驕傲的圖書館，

因?yàn)槲規(guī)砹四闼袧M滿的書架上都找不到而又最需要的東西，

這是我寫好的書，從戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)中帶出來的，

書中的文字不算什么，它的傾向才是一切，

一本單獨(dú)的書，與別的書沒有聯(lián)系，也沒有為人的智力所認(rèn)識(shí)，

但是你們，從沒透露過的潛伏者，將使每一頁(yè)都令人心悸。
