05 鄉(xiāng)愁

When I was a child， my homesickness was a small stamp
Linking Mum at the other end and me this.

小時(shí)候，鄉(xiāng)愁是一枚小小的郵票，　
我在這頭，母親在那頭。

When grown up， I remained homesick， but it became a ticket　
By which I sailed to and from my bride at the other end.

長(zhǎng)大后，鄉(xiāng)愁是一張窄窄的船票，
我在這頭，新娘在那頭。

Then homesickness took the shape of a grave，?
Mum inside of it and me outside.

后來(lái)啊!鄉(xiāng)愁是一方矮矮的墳?zāi)梗?br> 我在外頭，母親在里頭。

Now I’m still homesick， but it is a narrow strait

而現(xiàn)在，鄉(xiāng)愁是一灣淺淺的海峽，

Separating me on this side and the mainland on the other.

我在這頭，大陸在那頭。我在這頭，大陸在那頭。

背景介紹：

余光中（1928—），祖籍福建永春，生于江蘇南京，當(dāng)代著名詩(shī)人和評(píng)論家。1946年考入廈門(mén)大學(xué)外文系。1947年入金陵大學(xué)外語(yǔ)系（后轉(zhuǎn)入廈門(mén)大學(xué)），1948年發(fā)表第一首詩(shī)作，1949年歲父母遷香港，次年赴臺(tái)，就讀于臺(tái)灣大學(xué)外文系。1953年，與覃子豪、鐘鼎文等共創(chuàng)“藍(lán)星”詩(shī)社。后赴美進(jìn)修，獲美國(guó)愛(ài)荷華大學(xué)藝術(shù)碩士學(xué)位。
詩(shī)人的思鄉(xiāng)之愁不是直白地說(shuō)出來(lái)的，而是通過(guò)聯(lián)想、想象，塑造了四幅生活藝術(shù)形象（郵票、船票、墳?zāi)埂⒑{），使之呈現(xiàn)在讀者眼前。作者把對(duì)母親、妻子、祖國(guó)的思念、眷念之情熔于一爐，表達(dá)出渴望親人團(tuán)聚、國(guó)家統(tǒng)一的強(qiáng)烈愿望。
