Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair

Your doctor may recommend an arthroscopic ratator cuff repair if your rotator cuff is damaged.

　　當(dāng)肩袖損傷時，醫(yī)生可能會推薦進(jìn)行關(guān)節(jié)鏡下肩袖修補術(shù)。

The rotator cuff is made up of four muscles and tendons that  anchor the head of upper arm bone（the humerus)  securely into the socket of the shoulder joint.

　　肩袖由四塊肌肉及其肌腱組成，錨固于上臂骨（肱骨）的頭部，使其穩(wěn)定地連在肩關(guān)節(jié)的臼窩。

The muscles of the rotator cuff pull on bands of tough, inelastic tissues called tendons to raise and rotate your arm, while keeping the shoulder joint stable.

　　肩袖的肌肉通過牽拉這些堅韌無彈性的稱為肌腱的組織使胳膊上舉及旋轉(zhuǎn)，并維持肩關(guān)節(jié)的穩(wěn)定。

A torn rotator cuff causes arm movement to be painful, limited or impossible, depending on the severity of the tear.

　　根據(jù)肩袖撕裂的嚴(yán)重程度，可能引起肩關(guān)節(jié)活動時疼痛、活動受限或無法活動。

In the most severe injuries, the tendon is torn away from the attachment on the head of humerus. Because blood supply to tendons is poor, a rotator cuff tendon is unable to heal itself after a complete tear, and you will need surgery.

　　在嚴(yán)重?fù)p傷時，肌腱從肱骨頭的附著點撕脫。因為肌腱的血供很差，如果肩袖完全撕裂，它難以自愈，可能就需要手術(shù)治療。

Your rotator cuff can be injured by falling, lifting, pulling, or doing repetitive over head arm motions, such as pitching, swimming and painting. In addition, the normal wear and tear that companies aging, weaking and break down the tendons.

　　肩袖損傷常發(fā)生于摔倒、提重物、拖拉或反復(fù)做上臂過頂動作， 比如投擲、游泳以及涮油漆。另外，隨著年齡的增長，正常的磨損撕裂也會使肌腱變?nèi)鯕p。

Your surgeon will begin by  making two small cuts in your skin to access the inside of the shoulder. Next, your surgon will insert an arthroscope, this device contains a light, a camera and tiny surgical tools. The arthroscope will project images onto a TV monitor to guide your surgeon's work.

　　首先，醫(yī)生會在皮膚上做兩個小切口，以進(jìn)入肩關(guān)節(jié)內(nèi)部。然后，醫(yī)生會插入關(guān)節(jié)鏡，這個設(shè)備包含有光源、攝像頭，并插入一些微小的手術(shù)工具。關(guān)節(jié)鏡能將圖像投射到電視顯示器上，引導(dǎo)醫(yī)生手術(shù)。

Your surgon will make a few more small cuts, using small tools to examine your shoulder joint for unhealthy tissue, and repair the torn tendon. 

　　醫(yī)生還會作另外的切口，用小型工具檢查肩關(guān)節(jié)內(nèi)有沒有病變組織，并修補撕裂的肌腱。

Next, your surgeon will drill a few small holes in your bone, where implants called suture anchors will be placed. Your surgeon will loop sutures through the anchors  and stitched them to the repaired tendon to re-connect the tendon to the bone.

　　接著，醫(yī)生會在骨頭上鉆一些小孔，在其中擰入稱為縫合錨釘?shù)闹踩胛?。醫(yī)生可以將修復(fù)的肌腱通過錨釘環(huán)繞縫合，重新將肌腱與骨頭連接起來。

The anchors and the sutures will gradully be absorbed into the healing tissues.

　　錨釘和縫線會逐漸被愈合的組織吸收。

At the end of the procedure, your surgeon will take out the arthroscopic tools and close your incisions with stitches.

　　在手術(shù)的最后，醫(yī)生撤出關(guān)節(jié)鏡工具，關(guān)縫合關(guān)閉切口。

After the procedure, your shoulder will be placed in a sling for support and protection. You will spend a few hours in a recovery room, and will most likely to go home the same day.

　　術(shù)后，將肩關(guān)節(jié)懸吊起來以支撐和保護(hù)。病人在恢復(fù)室觀察幾小時，往往當(dāng)天就可以回家。
