some 與 any之區(qū)別　
some 和 any 都有“一些”的意思，都可作形容詞、代詞，可修飾或代替可數(shù)名詞的復數(shù)形式或不可數(shù)名詞，但兩者用法不同。 
一、some 一般用于肯定句中。例如： 
I can see some flowers. 我能看到一些花。 
There is some milk in the glass. 杯子里有一些牛奶。 
二、any 一般用于否定句和疑問句中。例如： 
— Can you see any bread on the table? 你看到桌子上有面包嗎？ 
—Yes , I can see some. 是的， 我看到一些。 
—Can you see any girls in the picture? 你能看到圖畫上的女孩嗎？ 
—No , I can't see any. 不， 我一個也看不到。 
三、some 可用于表示請求、邀請、希望得到肯定答復的一般疑問句中。例如： 
— Can you give me some bread? 你能給我一些面包嗎？ 
— Certainly . Here you are. 當然可以，給你。 
Would you like some bread? 你想要些面包嗎？

 many與much

many意為“許多”。它用來修飾可數(shù)名詞。如：

Do you have many beautiful skirts?

你有很多漂亮的裙子嗎？

much

意為“大量”。它用來修飾不可數(shù)名詞。如：

There is much water in the lake.

湖里有大量的水。

much的兩種角色： 

① 用于形容詞，作定語，修飾不可數(shù)名詞。如： 

Much water is in the cup.杯子里有很多書。 

② 用于副詞，表示“十分，非?！?，修飾動詞。如： 

We don't much like the story.我們不太喜歡那個故事。

much 和 very相連時，意為“很，非?！保脕硇揎梽釉~，相當于a lot,語氣比 much要強。  一般而言，它側重于程度，可修飾動詞，常置于動詞之后或句末。如：

I like listening music very much. 我非常喜歡聽音樂。

much和how的組合

how much，用于詢問數(shù)目、數(shù)量，how much后加不可數(shù)名詞。其句型結構為：“How much + 不可數(shù)名詞 + 助動詞/情態(tài)動詞 + 主語 + 動詞原型”。如：

How much milk do you want to buy? 你想要買多少牛奶？

“How much is/are ...? ”,也是用來詢問商品價格多少的特殊疑問句型。詢問時，how much后的動詞是is 還是are,由句子主語的單數(shù)或復數(shù)形式來確定。如：

How much is the fish? 這魚多少錢？

How much are the oranges? 這些橘子多少錢？

在對價格提問時，有些句式中的how much可與what互換。如：

How much/What does it cost? 這個多少錢？

not so much as 譯為“與其……不如……”

for example,"I`m not so much a fighter as a writer."(與其說我是一個戰(zhàn)士,不如說我是個作家)

關于many of 和 much of：

(1) 其后接名詞時，該名詞通常應是特指的（比如有the, these, those, my, our, Tom’s等修飾）。如：

Many of the farmers grow rice. 很多農民種稻子。

Many of his ideas were amusing to her. 他的許多想法使她感到有趣。

He spends much of his time outdoors. 他很多時間都在戶外度過。

Much of the land was flooded. 大片土地被水淹沒。

(2) 如果名詞沒有表特指的限定詞，通常就不用of。如：

她沒有吃多少早餐。

誤：She didn’t eat much of breakfast.

正：She didn’t eat much breakfast.

大玻璃杯剩下的不多了。

誤：There aren’t many of large glasses left.

正：There aren’t many large glasses left.

(3) 如果用了介詞of又沒有特指限定詞，通常是不可以的。如：

誤：Many of students have read it.

正：Many of the students have read it. 許多學生讀過它。

誤：Much of time was wasted.

正：Much of the time was wasted. 大部分時間都浪費了。

(4) 在少數(shù)情況下，much of之后不跟限定詞也可以用，這主要見后接人名和地名的情形。如：

Not much of Denmark is hilly. 丹麥山地不多。

I’ve seen too much of Howard recently. 最近我見霍華德見得太多了。

(5) 在人稱代詞前總是用many of或much of，其中的of不能沒有。如：

I didn’t eat much of it. 這個我沒吃多少。

Many of us were too tired to go further. 我們很多人都累得不能再往前走了。

 plenty of

“大量的，充裕的”，用來修飾可數(shù)名詞和不可數(shù)名詞，用法同a lot of / lots of。例： 
There are plenty of eggs in the market. 
市場上有很多雞蛋。 
I need plenty of time to finish the work. 
我需要很多時間來完成這項工作。
