今天講了一個(gè)知識(shí)點(diǎn)，arise和rise，raise的區(qū)別。

arise有appear之意，但也有rise的意思，都是不及物動(dòng)詞。

如：The hair on the back of my neck rose when I heard a scream at midnight. 此處rise可以變成arise。

但rise有情緒高漲的意思。如：Her spirits rose at the good news.

而raise是一個(gè)及物動(dòng)詞。

如：raise one's head/hands

今天遇到一難題：Knowing the death could have been _____ if he only had take the diseases seriously, he felt.......

答案一個(gè)是prevented，一個(gè)是avoided。應(yīng)該選第一個(gè)。因?yàn)閜revent意思是：keep from happening；make defense against。而avoid的意思是：keep away from meeting，等等。
