More than anything else in the world, Angelina loved to dance. She danced all the time and she danced everywhere, and often she was so busy dancing that she forgot about the other things she was supposed to be doing.

比起世界上的其他事情來說，安吉麗娜最喜歡跳舞了。她每時每刻都在跳舞，在各種地方跳舞，她總是忙著跳舞以至于她經(jīng)常忘掉她應該做的事情。

Angelina’s mother was always calling to her, 'Angelina, it’s time to tidy up your room now,' or 'Please get ready for school now, Angelina.' But Angelina never wanted to go to school. She never wanted to do anything but dance.

安吉麗娜的媽媽經(jīng)常跟她說，“安吉麗娜，現(xiàn)在你應該去打掃你的房間了，”或者是“你現(xiàn)在要去上學了，安吉麗娜?！钡?，安吉麗娜并不想去學校，除了跳舞，她什么事情都不想做。

One night Angelina even danced in her dreams, and when she woke up in the morning, she knew that she was going to be a real ballerina some day.

有一天晚上，安吉麗娜甚至在夢里跳舞了，當她第二天早晨醒來的時候，她覺得她總有一天會成為一個真正的芭蕾舞者的。

When Mrs. Mouseling called Angelina for breakfast, Angelina was standing on her beddoing curtsies.

鼠太太叫安吉麗娜吃早飯的時候，安吉麗娜正站在她的床上行屈膝禮（舞蹈表演結(jié)束后的謝幕動作）。

When it was time for school, Angelina was trying on her mother’s hats and making sad and funny faces at herself in the mirror. 'You’re going to be late again, Angelina!' cried Mrs. Mouseling.

到上學的時間了，安吉麗娜還在試鼠太太的帽子，對著鏡子里的自己做各種各樣的鬼臉?！澳阌忠t到了，安吉麗娜！”鼠太太大聲說道。

But Angelina did not care. She skipped over rocks and practiced high leaps over the flower-beds until she landed right in old Mrs. Hodgepodge’s pansies and got a terrible scolding.

但是安吉麗娜并不在意。她跳過巖石，在花圃上練習高跳躍，正好落到了霍奇波奇太太種的三色堇上，被狠狠地訓斥了一通。

At playtime she twirled and spun across the playground so fast hat none of the little boys in her class could catch her, and they were all very cross.

課間玩耍的時候，安吉麗娜在操場上一圈又一圈飛速地旋轉(zhuǎn)，那些小男孩們根本抓不住她，然后他們就都走了。

After school she did a beautiful arabesque in the kitchen and knocked over a pitcher of milk and a plate of her mother’s best Cheddar cheese pies.

放學后，她在廚房做了一個美麗的阿拉貝斯克舞姿(單腿直立，一臂前伸，另一腿往后抬起，另一臂舒展揚起)，打翻了牛奶和一盤媽媽最好的切達奶酪餡餅。

'Oh Angelina, your dancing is nothing but a nuisance!' exclaimed her mother.

“安吉麗娜，你跳的舞什么都不是，真讓人討厭！”媽媽大聲說。

She sent Angelina straight upstairs to her room and went to have a talk with Mr. Mouseling. 

她把安吉麗娜送到樓上她的房間里，然后跟鼠先生談了談。

Mrs. Mouseling shook her head and said, 'I just don’t know what to do about Angelina,' Mr. Mouseling thought a while and then he said, 'I think I may have an idea.'

鼠太太搖著頭說；“我真是拿安吉麗娜沒辦法，”鼠先生想了一會兒，說：“我想，我有個好辦法?！?/span>

That same afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Mouseling went out together before the shops closed.

那天下午，鼠先生和鼠太太在商店關門之前出去了一趟。

The next morning at breakfast Angelina found a large box with her name on it.

第二天早上吃早飯的時候，安吉麗娜發(fā)現(xiàn)了一個寫著她的名字的大禮物盒。

Inside the box was a pink ballet dress and a pair of pink ballet slippers. Angelina’s father smiled at her kindly. 'I think you are ready to take ballet lessons,' he said.

盒子里是一件粉色的芭蕾舞裙和一雙芭蕾舞鞋。安吉麗娜的爸爸鼠先生笑著對她說：“我想你已經(jīng)準備好了去上芭蕾舞課了?！?/span>

Angelina was so excited that she jumped straight up in the air and landed with one foot in her mother’s sewing basket.

安吉麗娜興奮得跳了起來，隨后一只腳落在她母親的針線籃里。

The very next day Angelina took her pink slippers and ballet dress and went to her first lesson at Miss Lilly’s Ballet School. There were nine other little girls in the class and they all practiced curtsies and pliés and ran around the room together just like fairies. Then they skipped and twirled about until it was time to go home.

第二天，安吉麗娜帶著她的粉色芭蕾舞鞋和舞裙，去莉莉老師的芭蕾舞學校上她的第一節(jié)芭蕾舞課了。教室里還有其他九個小女孩，他們都在練習彎腰屈膝禮，在教室里跑動，真的就像小仙女一樣。他們一圈又一圈地飛速旋轉(zhuǎn)直到下課回家。

'Congratulations, Angelina,' said Miss Lilly. 'You are a good little dancer and if you work hard you may grow up to be a real ballerina one day.'

“祝賀你，安吉麗娜，”莉莉老師說，“你是一個非常棒的小舞蹈家，如果你認真努力的話，將來你會成為一位真正的芭蕾舞者的！”

Angelina ran all the way home to give her mother a big hug. 'I’m the happiest little girl in the world today!' she said.

安吉麗娜一路跑回家，給他的媽媽一個巨大的擁抱，“今天我一定是世界上最幸福的女孩啦！”她開心地說。

From that day on, Angelina came downstairs when her mother called her, she tidied her room, and she went to school on time.

從那天起，每次媽媽叫她的時候，安吉麗娜都會立即下樓，她也會打掃自己的房間，去學校也不再遲到了。

She helped her mother make Cheddar cheese pies and she even let the boys catch her on the playground sometimes.

她還幫助媽媽做切達干酪餡餅，有的時候甚至還和小男孩們在操場上追趕著玩。

Angelina was so busy dancing at Miss Lilly’s that she didn’t need to dance at suppertime or bedtime or on the way to school anymore. She went every day to her ballet lessons and worked very hard for many years…

安吉麗娜一直在莉莉老師的芭蕾舞學校跳舞，所以她不必在吃飯的時候，睡覺前或是去學校的路上忙著跳舞了。她每天都會去上芭蕾舞課，認真地練習，就這樣堅持了很多年。

…Until at last she became the famous ballerina, Mademoiselle Angelina, and people came from far and wide to enjoy her lovely dancing.

最后，她真的成為了一位出色的芭蕾舞女演員，安吉麗娜小姐。各地的人們慕名而來看她的表演，大家都非常喜歡她的舞蹈。
