在雅思口語的評分標準里面,對地道本土語言的應用能夠起到提分的作用噢~所謂的地道表達包括idioms,phrasal verbs and proverbs(or sayings)。idioms & phrasal verbs在范例中圈哥給大家分享了不少,今天來推薦一些高大上的proverbs。他們摘自外國名著《圣經(jīng)》,《伊索寓言》等等,而且此類表達都是和動物有關的,一下子看上去還真分辨不出是啥意思~ 烤鴨們拉下去看看,有哪些是你覺得用得上的,那就趕快mark起來咯! Birds of a feather flock together. 物以類聚,人以群分。 Example: My friend Eliza and I are very much alike, so we hung out all the time, just like what they say birds of a feather flock together. Fine feathers make fine birds. 人要衣裝,馬要鞍。 Example: Fine feathers make fine birds. My roommate proved this in a perfect way since I met him in my first day in college. A gloved cat catches no mice. 戴手套的貓,抓不到老鼠。(過于小心謹慎難成大事) Example: A gloved cat catches no mice, so I can imagine how hard it's been for my uncle to make his company this successful today. Care kills a cat. 憂慮愁死貓(貓有九條命都被憂愁殺死了,何況是只有一條命的人呢)。 Example: “Care kills a cat.” That’s what I said to my family whenever they worry too much about everything. Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched. 雞蛋未孵出,先別數(shù)小雞。(不要過早樂觀) Example: It’s quite possible that I can get the job, but I also tell myself do not count the chickens before they’re hatched. Love me, love my dog. 愛屋及烏 Example: I really adore that restaurant in the next block, even the café near to it seems wonderful!I supposed that’s what they say about love me, love my dog. Barking dogs don’t (seldom) bite. 愛叫的狗少咬人。 Example: As an old saying puts it, barking dog don’t bite. So a little disagreement won’t cost the relationship between my friend and me. Don’t ride the high horse. 別擺架子。 Example: My roommate Leo speaks French,Spanish and Korean pretty well, but he never rides the high horse. That’s the reason why he has so many friends. Don’t put the cart before the horse. 處理問題不要本末倒置。 Example: My cousin knows how to fix things right, like he never puts the cart before the horse.
