今天（4月17日）上BBC瞧瞧，看他們對青海地震的評述，在“more top stories”下有個(gè)標(biāo)題“China quake toll 'passes 1,000'”，點(diǎn)進(jìn)去，有個(gè)中國地震小專題，頁面右邊有篇文章：“Qinghai: Barren, remote province”，在進(jìn)入。文中可以有這樣的描述：

“Correspondents say China's strict rule over its restive xizangan population may have meant a high number of troops stationed around Yushu when the quake struck, and the first images from the scene showed military personnel scrabbling to help the injured. ”

“The Qinghai region was incorporated into China at the beginning of the 18th century, and became a Chinese province in 1928. For centuries Qinghai was part of xizang, and xizangan nationalists still regard the province as under colonial rule. ”
